The Three Sedona Method Questions

The Sedona method is a great way to help release all the pent up feelings that otherwise conspire to bring us down.

At its simplest and easiest, the Sedona method gets you to ask yourself a set of three simple questions.

It’s not like an exam or test at college. There are no correct or incorrect answers. The first two questions are either “yes” or “no”. Question 3 just needs you to answer it. More of that later.

Before you can start asking yourself the 3 Sedona questions, you have to find a feeling that is causing you some kind of issue. If this is your first time, start easy. The sound of your computer’s fan, the sniff in your nose that you can’t shift, something simple like that. Don’t choose anything too heavy as your first session!

If you can’t think of anything else, work on the doubt you’ve got about whether the Sedona method works for anyone let alone works for you.

Then with the feeling you’ve homed in on, ask yourself the 3 Sedona method questions:

1. Could I let it go?
2. Would I let it go?
3. When?

Answer each question in turn. Don’t move on to the next question before answering. And don’t worry if your answers to these apparently easy questions don’t spring to mind instantly. They’re quite deep for questions that appear shallow to your conscious mind. That is why they work as well as they do.

As I said previously, questions 1 and 2 have to have an answer of “yes” or “no”. Answering “maybe” isn’t good enough. Sorry. Get off the fence, even if you immediately sit back on it!

The third question is much more open. Same as the first 2 questions there aren’t any correct or incorrect answers. Your answer to “when” doesn’t matter too much. You could answer “now” or “tomorrow” or “next week” or “never”. So long as you answer, it’s OK. And all points inbetween.

After that, just work your way through the 3 Sedona method questions as many times as you need to. Work with the feeling you first thought of if it needs more work to disappear. Or with whatever has taken its place. Accept whatever happens as being OK – you’ll have a good idea of what’s correct for you at this moment. Maybe your instinct will tell you. Or maybe you’ll just “know” it’s right.

How To Improve Self Esteem…

Like many self improvement concepts, developing self esteem is full of mumbo jumbo that has little practical value. Telling someone to have a firm hand shake, look people in the eye, or repeat “I’m somebody” over and over- just isn’t going to do it.

Trust me on this one, boosting your self esteem takes action. Heathy self esteem comes from having confidence in your abilities. How do you develop confidence? From being comfortable in who you are and your abilities. How do develop abilities? They same way you get good at anything else in life, by working at it until you get it right. You don’t suddenly wake up one day with increased self esteem. You work on the things that will make you feel good about yourself until your low self esteem gradually becomes high self esteem over time.

Let me share something with you that you will never hear from the warm and fuzzy crowd: You have to be willing to make changes. You can’t expect to keep living life like you’ve been living it, and have things change on their own. You have to MAKE them change.

If you want to raise your self esteem, you need to feel good about yourself and your abilities. And there’s no better place to start than how you feel about your physical appearance. Think about it. Do you ever see a professional athlete that’s trying to overcome little self esteem? If anything, these guys have too much self esteem!

Some of that natural self esteem might come from birth, but I guarantee you that improved self confidence was built from many hours of a hard work and training. This work gave them the foundation for raising the self esteem they already had.

Let me share something with you that Arnold Schwarzenegger said that few people ever think about:

“Once you have the discipline to affect the shape of your body, you have the discipline to accomplish anything.”

Do you see the hidden key here to more self esteem? You start with the body, and the mind will follow. I call it getting a new body and new life. Would having the discipline to accomplish anything you set your mind to help you overcome low self esteem?

You bet it would!

Think about how few people you know that can control the shape of their body through proper diet and exercise. Just a fraction of the population- correct? Now tell me how you would feel about yourself if you knew YOU were one of those people. Think about any weight loss success story you’ve ever heard of. Did the person who succeed at that say life is the same- or are they totally happy!

They say things like “I can’t believe my boost in self confidence and self esteem. I feel like a brand new person.”

The same thing happened to me. At age fourty-nine, I totally changed the shape of my body. I was the proverbial 90 pound weakling growing up. As I got older, I became a fat weakling. Then I took control of my body. And it did give me the discipline, courage, and self esteem to accomplish whatever I set my mind to. I quit my job and wrote a book about it. Now I travel and go on the radio giving interviewers and guidance on how anyone can have a new body and life. This is something that I never would of had the self esteem or self confidence to do before.

If I can do it, you can do it. Take control of your low self esteem by transforming yourself physically first. All it takes is eating right and getting in some challenging exercise. Once you do this, I can promise you, improved self esteem is right around the corner.

Tap into the Body, Mind, and Spirit Connection

Strengthen the Body

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” [1 Corinthians. 6:19-20].

The body is too often ignored in the mind, body, and spirit connection. We know the need for a healthy mind and spirit. However, few people consider how the body can act as an anchor to the mind and spirit. Think about how you feel mentally when you are bed ridden with something minor like the flu. Now consider how happy you feel when your body feels healthy and energetic.

God did not design us to be inactive and eat man made foods, treat your body acording to Gods plan and your spirituality will deepen. Start with being a better steward of your health, and watch what happens.

You will have a new body and a new life.

Here’s how it works: Take an honest look at your health habits. If you’re not eating a natural diet; the foods God put on the planet. And are not being physically active, you are not treating your body the way God designed it to be treated. Once you begin doing this you will have a mental and physical transformation.

The physical one is obvious. You will lose weight and become stronger and healthier. The mental disipine comes next. You boost confidence. You increase pride and increase self esteem. You will have more motivation. A biblical diet will create a strong body, mind, and spirit. Here’s why:

When you change poor health habits over to good ones, something amazing is happening. You are experiencing mental disipline. The emotions that govern instant gratification. These are the emotions that tell you be a poor and lazy steward of your body. When you are in control of these emotions, you have created the discipline to accomplish what ever else you set your mind to!

Want to deepen your faith and increase your spirituality? Start with your body. Be grateful God has given you the opportunity to use your body the way He created it to be used. Strengthen your body with proper stewardship and your mind and spirit will follow.

Regardless of your age or personal circumstances, you can have a new body and life.

Only you can give yourself the gift of a new body and new life. This journey will take you places you never dreamed of.

When Reiki isn’t Working

Reiki is a wonderful technique that has brought about many amazing changes in my life and the lives of my clients and students but there are times when Reiki seems to be completely ineffective, even after multiple sessions. What is going on when Reiki isn’t working?

I’ve noticed over the years that many people think that, because they are Reiki practitioners, they can fix or heal other people. For a while, I held this belief, too. However, I came to notice that no matter how successful my practice was, there were instances where nothing I did seemed to make any difference; Reiki simply wasn’t working. Slowly, I realized that the changes taking place in my clients were not of my doing, nor were they decisions made by the "Reiki Source". Instead, my experiences were showing me that the client is the one in charge and that he or she determines the level and extent of transformation that occurs.

When Reiki isn’t working, we need to ask ourselves if something might be going on below the surface. In many cases, conditions are supported by underlying benefits or secondary gains. These are belief patterns the client holds that cause him or her to think, on some deep level, having their condition is better than not having it. If your client has an underlying benefit that is not addressed, no amount of work you do will bring lasting change.

To illustrate the concept of secondary gain, I will provide a few examples:

Many of us learn at an early age that we get special attention when we are sick. I have seen several instances where a wife was sick and enjoyed the extra attention she received because of it. “It’s so nice. My husband takes such good care of me. He brings me breakfast in bed, cleans the house, washes the dishes and checks on me every half hour. I wish he would be like this more often”, she might say.

Another example is a friend of mine who has been a smoker for over twenty years. When I asked her if she would like to quit, she said she yes. I gave her Reiki for several weeks with no progress at all. Finally, I asked her what the downside to quitting might be and she said it would lead to weight gain and that was a serious concern for her.

I know someone who was addicted to pain medication after being prescribed pain killers for her migraines over a ten year period. Most of the time, Reiki would lessen or eliminate her headaches but there were times she would get one and no amount of energy work helped. Once again, Reiki wasn’t working. It was only after she had gone to the emergency room and gotten more pain medication that she would allow the Reiki to soothe her headache.

I continue giving examples but the point I want to make is that our clients either allow us to help them or stop us from doing so, based on how willing they are to release the core issues that lead to whatever condition they are facing. As Reiki practitioners, we must recognize that we only assist our clients in changing and nothing we do can force them to go in a direction they don’t wish to go.

Understanding that many people have underlying reasons for maintaining a certain condition and knowing how to find those secondary gains is invaluable to everyone practicing Reiki or any other modality. Once the benefit is discovered and made clear to the client, a decision can then be made on how willing he or she is to change it. If the client decides the core issue is not something he or she is ready to change at this time, respect the decision and realize that we all grow at our own pace.

If you find that Reiki isn’t working for your client, take some time to ask a few questions about the situation you are trying to help resolve. Questions like, “What’s the downside to changing this?” or “What would you have to do or face if you weren’t dealing with this?” or “What’s the upside to holding on to this problem?” can help answers surface. Your client might be surprised at what beliefs have been driving these conditions. When you have a secondary gain and the client has chosen to release it, and then apply Reiki to the belief by having him or her hold the thought in mind while you use the mental/emotional symbol and any others you feel guided to use.

The Mystery of Mastering Motivation

Each of us, at one point or the other, could use an extra dose of motivation.  Those of us building a businesses are no exception.  As you know, there is no easy “business in a box”.   The reasons so many fail are the floundering around and losing sight of the goal, becoming frustrated and losing focus, and then giving up.  Learning to be motivated can eliminate all the above and keep us persevering towards the goal – a successful business!

Motivation is an integral daily component in long term success in any business or goal. The ability to stay focused, committed and resolute are common characteristics of motivated people but even the highest achiever will admit that it is difficult to stay motivated without frequent inspiration. 

There are 4 keys to staying motivated:

A)     Write down your goals

B)    Review these goals frequently

C)    Measure and compare your progress towards the goals

D)    Surround yourself with positive influences

Okay, now we have “the goal”. We’ve researched and learned the required steps in acquiring our goal.  Now, before we become overwhelmed, we must break the goal down into achievable parts.

Short term “sprints” towards your long term objective are the key.  No marathon runner looks at the race as a 26.2 run.  They think of the race as an accumulation of smaller sprints, with a dash for the finish at the end. 

By breaking down your objectives into smaller goals (sprints), you make them more psychologically attainable, as well as less monumental and massive.

Use your sprints to build a plan that consists of measurable activities. Write them down on a calendar. By building your plan and reviewing it regularly, you’ll be able to keep your focus.

Measure and Compare

You can’t improve it if you don’t measure it.  You can control activities, but not the results.

Sometimes, no matter how closely you have followed your action plan, you still miss the mark. Why is this? Since your goals are a stretch for you, you can’t envision the exact outcome. This is when it is important to stick to your plan. If you do and are consistent, you will eventually experience your desired growth.

Stay Disciplined

By consistently pushing toward your goal, you’ll develop mental muscle memory – the stuff that pulls you through when sticking to your plan gets tough. Make Motivation Your Lifestyle. 

What are you reading, listening to and watching? Everything that you choose to surround yourself with is an influence on your behavior so consider your lifestyle. Plan now to attend goal affirming events. By putting events on your calendar in advance, you’ll be able to evaluate last minute invitations much better and won’t be tempted by every invitation.

Journaling is a key to keeping your life and plan in perspective. In addition to providing time for you to reflect on each day, it is also an invaluable opportunity to gain a true perspective on yourself. After a year or two, you’ll be able to look back at your writing as an objective observer and see how far your motivation has taken you.

How Life Coaching can Turn Your Life Around

It is true to state that most people experience issues setting goals for themselves and those that do manage it, then have difficulties following them. It can be due to a lack of self-discipline, lack of direction or maybe a mismanaged life style that has them going around in a circle, never making any headway. Increase Your Ability to Attract Through Love

A sure way of enhancing your ability to attract is to focus on the love you have for what you’re wanting to manifest. Love is probably the highest vibration we know and feeling love for what you wish to create will raise your energetic resonance, pulling your target to you that much faster.

Let's say you've been living in a drought and you really need some rain. Clear your mind of any negative thoughts. Focus your attention on the rain. See it falling. Smell it if you can. Hear it hitting the roof of your house or the leaves of the trees. Now focus on feelings of love. "I love the sound of rain hitting my roof.” and then feel that love. "I love the smell of a spring thunderstorm.” and feel that love. “I love how the rain waters my flowers.” Whatever it is about rain that you truly love, focus on that thing and then feel the emotion.

Maybe you want to attract your dream job or your dream relationship. You don’t even have to know what the job is or who the person is. Simply focus your attention on what you would love about having them. “I love how it feels to get up every morning and be excited about my work day.” Then feel the love. “I love how wonderful it is to come home to my wife or husband’s smiling face and warm embrace.” Then feel the love. The longer you can stay in this state of love, the stronger your creativity becomes.

The next important thing is to not destroy what you’ve built by thinking negative thoughts. Don’t spend time telling yourself how unlikely it is you’ll get what you want or how long it’s bound to take. It is also important not to limit the outcome by assuming it must take a particular form; this creates resistance. Be open to all possibilities and let your goal come to you however it does. Know that you've planted a creative seed and allow it to grow.

Attracting the Opposite Sex…

I would be great if others judged us by what was on the inside. However, let’s face reality. That’s not how life works. As much as we can pretend otherwise, others judge us by our looks. Especially at first.

And what do people see first? Our weight. You can dye your hair, whiten your teeth, and get a fake tan. But you can’t hide being overweight. Exess fat may hide the nicest person in the word. But sadly, some people can’t look past that.

First, diets and diet products don’t work! They have been proven not to work by the 2 of 3 Americans that are overweight or obese.

Don’t go there.

Looking and feeling more attractive is easier than you think. When you lose weight, you feel more confident. And confidence is attractive too! If you think losing weight will help you look more attractive, I can help. Here’s all you have to do: Change your habits from ones that cause you to gain weight, over to new habits that cause you to lose it. Nothing else will work.

I call it getting a new body and a new life.

You look more attractive, you feel more attractive- and you learn new life changing skills that serve you for your entire life.

Sadly, yes. We are judged by our looks. As long as that’s the case. Let’s use it to our advantage. If you think this is shallow, then why bother washing your face or putting on make up? Don’t let the lazy side of your brain cheat you out of a new body and life. Anyone can lose weight once they know how. I’m total proof. I failed at it for thirty years until I got it right at age 50. Now I have a better looking body than I did when I was 20.

At fifty and married, I’m not all that worried about being attractive to the opposite sex. However, I feel happier and more confident than I have in my entire life. If I can do it, you can too. Just look at your bad habits, and one by one, change them over to healthy ones. You won’t regret it. And I promise you will feel more attractive than you ever have.
